DNS IPF 8

1st YEAR – THE INTERNATIONAL PRACTICE FIELD

EXPERIENCING AND UNDERSTANDING THE GLOBAL REALITY

The first year includes 2-months in DNS in Denmark where you will be preparing for a 4-month bus travel, through Northern and Western Africa including the Sahara Desert. This time you will spend researching and studying about the travel countries, preparing yourselves for the travel and your home on wheels – the bus. You will create a home in the bus, learn to fix the bus and its heart, the engine. You will also come to your first exam in French, the language used widely in the countries on your way.

In November the 4-month study travel begins with a trip through whole Europe, in Africa you will investigate different topics in each country, experience the countries and meet people. You will study, write reports and certainly fix the bus once in a while.

3 months of concluding on the travel, realizing what you have learned and spreading a different picture of Africa in European countries. This period also includes the studies, writing reports and passing the exams.

The final 3 months of the 1st year are a saving up period which can be anywhere in Europe and has the goal to earn money for the next year. Each team finds its own way but the most often the jobs have been found in the schools, building sites, clothes shops, farms, green houses, cleaning companies…

DNS13 europe

2nd YEAR – THE EUROPEAN PRACTICE FIELD

EXPERIENCING AND UNDERSTANDING THE EUROPEAN REALITY

Includes 6 months training in experiencing and understanding the national reality by living, working (seeking employment in the services and other working places), studying and organizing cultural events in a bigger European town. You will find a house where you will live with your teammates and start working. This period is full of new experiences, creating a new network and giving something back to the community you will be part of.

3 months of studying at DNS and having exams.

3 months “Doing what you find most appropriate to do” is a period where you have the chance to travel to a new place, get volunteering experiences or a practice abroad. There are virtually no limitations of what you can as long as you find it most appropriate to do!

3rd YEAR – THE SCHOOL PRACTICE FIELD

EXPERIENCING AND UNDERSTANDING THE REALITY OF CHILDREN AND TEACHERS IN SCHOOL

Includes 8 months training, working and understanding the reality of children and teachers by seeking employment in a European school.

This 8 months consist of working as an assistant teacher in a school, either in a European country or in Denmark within our school cooperation. You will experience the work as a teacher, the fun time, the hard moments and everything in between. You will prepare and conduct lessons, create projects for your students and be an active part of the education of your students.

3 months at the school, studying and making final exams.
